▪ Internship done at National Laboratory of Civil Engineering of Lisbon (LNEC) (PT), concerning the “New European Technical Rules for the Assessment of Existing Structures”.
My research was focused on understanding the different national approaches in the rehabilitation of existing structures, find differences and propose the best solution to include in what will be a new chapter of the Eurocode

▪ Internship done at Laboratory of Soil Dynamics of Geotechnical Department of University of Naples “Federico II” concerning the “Soil Characterization of a Silty Clay”.
My work was focused on analyzing the behavior of a silty clay from L'Aquila region, after the earthquake of 2009. The goal was to understand how the presence of caves in the underground of some buildings affected the propagation of seismic waves in the ground.
We used two different type of test: tri-axial test with a Bishop cell and high pressure oedometer test.
The research showed that there was actually and amplification of the seismic waves due to the particular type of soil.
